Roger was a founding member of the Sanderson Conference of the St Vincent De Pauls Society in 1983. He was a man of charity and would offer food, bed and clothes to those in need. Together, under Roger’s presidency, the conference sponsored a number of refugee families and set up homes for their arrival. Through trips to island communities, Roger established with Croker and Bathurst Islands, the delivery of bread for school breakfast programs. Between jobs Roger would collect boxes of bread and deliver to the barge to be shipped fortnightly to the islands.

Roger worked tirelessly giving back to the community, while also raising his own family of five children. The Garrick family are very proud that Roger’s work has been recognised and are pleased to be celebrating with the Zuccoli community.
