Carols by Candlelight

On Sunday, 1 December 2024, the iconic Carols by Candlelight event will be held at the Darwin Amphitheatre in the beautiful George Brown Botanic Gardens, just under half an hour away from Zuccoli. This annual tradition, hosted by the Christmas in Darwin Association and sponsored by the City of Darwin, brings together the community to sing carols under the stars. It’s an evening of family-friendly fun, complete with all the warmth and joy that Christmas carols bring. Pack a picnic, light a candle, and let the festive magic take over.

Santa’s Village

Santa is hitting the road this Christmas, and you’ll be able to meet him at various locations across the Top End. Starting 21 November, Santa’s Village will pop up at libraries and malls throughout Darwin, including stops in Nightcliff, Karama, and Casuarina, before settling into his final home at the Galleria shopping centre in the Smith Street Mall. If you’re hoping to catch Santa up close, visit Casuarina Library (just under 30 minutes away) from 5–7 December, or head to the Galleria from 9–21 December. It’s the perfect chance to snap a photo with the jolly man himself and get into the Christmas spirit.

Elf on the Shelf

This year, the Elf on the Shelf is causing some merry mischief in the City of Darwin libraries, and you’re invited to join the fun. The cheeky elf will be hiding in the libraries from 21 November to 21 December, and you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for him! If you want to take part in the competition, head over to Casuarina Library (from 2–7 December) or Darwin City Library (from 9–21 December). It’s a wonderful way to keep the little ones entertained while adding some playful Christmas magic to the season.
