With the April school holidays underway, Palmerston Library is once again hosting a packed program of activities designed to keep young minds engaged and entertained.
The program runs from 7 to 10 April, with all sessions starting at 10am, and is designed for children aged 5 to 12 years. Across the week, kids can take part in a variety of hands‑on craft activities, along with a family‑friendly movie screening to finish things off.
With a different activity each day, it’s an easy, local option for keeping kids engaged during the holidays, just a short drive from Zuccoli Village.

Mindil Beach Sunset Market Returns for the Dry Season
A much‑loved Darwin experience, the Mindil Beach Sunset Market returns with its first market of 2026 on Thursday 30 April.
Held every Thursday and Sunday, the market is known for its vibrant atmosphere, offering more than 150 food vendors and specialty stalls. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of cuisines, browse local art and handmade goods, and take in one of Darwin’s famous sunset views over the beach.
It’s a popular choice for family nights out, casual dinners with friends or entertaining visitors to the Top End. For those wanting something extra, the Sunset Lounge and VIP seating options are also available.

The Craft Nest at Palmerston Library
For those looking to unwind and get creative, The Craft Nest is a weekly adult craft group held at Palmerston Library throughout April and into May.
The sessions focus on guided cross stitch and diamond art, providing a relaxed space where participants can work on their projects, meet new people and enjoy some creative downtime.
It’s a simple, social way to spend part of the week and enjoy a creative outlet close to home.
