October through to December is the perfect time to be wetting a line, as the hot conditions before the monsoon hits, is usually when the fish are biting. Here’s a wrap up of our favourite fishing spots:

Leaders Creek 

A short 40 minute drive from home will lead you to Leaders Creek Fishing Base. Leaders Creek offers boat hire and even accommodation if you want to make a trip out of your visit! Leaders Creek also flows into the Adelaide River, where you’re guaranteed to spot a croc.

Dundee Beach

Head down to Dundee Beach and out wide to the Peron Islands to catch some fish. Located over an hour’s drive from Zuccoli, Dundee Beach makes the perfect half or full day trip. Take your boat out on the easily accessible public boat ramp and catch as many fish as you can! The area is most known for its famous Barra, but also has plenty of Queenfish, GT’s Mackerel, Tuna and Sailfish to sink your hook into! 

Daly River

Venture a little bit further south to the Daly River, most known for its Barra fishing competition. The Daly River region offers more than just fishing, featuring hot springs, gorges, walks and swimming holes – perfect for the whole family. Hire a boat and head out on the river to catch Barramundi! 

Nightcliff Jetty

The NightCliff Jetty is the perfect local spot to go fishing if you don’t want to take the boat out. Just 30 minutes from Zuccoli, the jetty is home to a broad range of fish including Flathead, Blue Salmon, Mackerel and Coral Trout, with whispers of Barra being caught here too.

Million Dollar Fish Competition
The extra bonus of these fishing spots is the Million Dollar Fish Competition which runs from 1 October through to 31 March 2024. This year they are offering up over 100 x $10,000 fish, and eleven times the chance to catch the Million Dollar Fish!
