Live at the Lake

Enjoy the great outdoors with a side of rhythm at “Live at the Lake”. These free events will take over Palmerston’s picturesque lakefront throughout the dry season, promising an evening of live entertainment and relaxation by the water.  Across Saturday 8th June, 20th July and 17th August 2024, performances will run from 5:00pm until 7:30pm with a different artist featured at each event. This is the perfect opportunity to unwind with friends and family amidst the tranquil surroundings!

Stay up-to-date on these events and see artist details on the website here.

Local Markets

Experience the lively atmosphere of good food, music and vibes at some of the local markets running throughout the dry season, Mindil Beach Sunset Markets and Palmerston Markets.

To indulge in an array of seasonal produce, fashion and crafts, visit the Mindil Beach Markets – open every Thursday and Sunday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, or for a mix of multicultural flavours, performances and entertainment, head to the Palmerston Markets which will light up Goyder Square every Friday night, welcoming shoppers from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

Picnics in the Park

Step outside to enjoy one of Zuccoli’s beautiful surrounding parks with a peaceful, laid-back picnic on the green. Whether you prefer the spacious greenery of William Kirby Jones Park, the tranquil setting of Sanctuary Lakes Park, or the family-friendly atmosphere of Michael Ting Park, there’s no shortage of idyllic spots to enjoy some outdoor relaxation.

Local Hiking Trail

If you’re ready to break a sweat, try your hand at exploring the Gurambai Cultural Walking Trail, located 30 minutes away. This trail will introduce you to the extraordinary natural beauty of the Top End and provide you with an introduction to Larrakia country and culture. There are options to walk as little as 20 minutes along the trail or the full 1 hour, 3km return trip, and you can even take part in a guided tour led by members of the Indigenous Training Academy. It’s the perfect option for a morning exploring the region and taking in some breathtaking scenery!

As the dry season arrives, it’s the ideal time to revel in the natural beauty of our local surrounding areas. Whether it’s enjoying live music by the lake, browsing the local markets, or simply taking a leisurely stroll through the park, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in and around Zuccoli Village.
