Renee Mangohig – F45’s newest owner and NT local – never imagined that fitness would become her passion. She spent years working as a mortgage broker helping people buy their very first homes and build their dream futures. It wasn’t until she was offered a free trial at F45 Palmerston that her view on fitness changed. 

“I really wasn’t a gym person,” she said, “but after my first challenge, I knew I’d found something special.” That something special became even more significant in her life after suffering a car accident that required Renee to undergo several surgeries. Once again, she then turned to group fitness to rebuild her strength and confidence in recovery. “It was the missing piece of my health journey,” Renee said, “F45 gave me the ability to do things I never thought possible. It was a game-changer.” 

This journey soon led to Renee being an active member of the local F45 community and when posed with the opportunity to be its newest owner, she grabbed the opportunity with both hands. 

From her own experience, Renee has seen the value fitness can have on someone’s life and now wants to help empower others to grow stronger, healthier, and more confident. Her vision for the local gym is to create a space where everyone feels welcome and supported – and part of a local community – no matter their fitness level.

“I know that F45 is more than just a gym, it’s a place where you can transform not only your body but also your mind,” she said, “so I want F45 Palmerston to be a place where people can show up and know they’ll be met with encouragement and community. Whether they are overcoming physical health challenges or focusing on mental wellness, fitness is a tool that helps us take control of our lives – and I’m here to help guide that process.”

Family also plays a big role in Renee’s new vision for F45 with her daughter, Liliana, working alongside her as a coach-in-training, and her husband, Mark, in training to soon do the same. An extension of that family are the members who show up for others as much as they do for themselves.  “Our community is about support – whether that’s from a coach or a fellow member. We’re all here to help each other grow.”
