Family Find Their Paradise in Palmerston

After years of searching for the right place to call home, the Weber family took no chances third time around, securing their family home once and for all, in the suburban hub of Palmerston.

Brianna and her husband Tony and their three children had lived in an apartment they own in Bakewell for the past 11 years, before deciding to upsize as a family, but finding their forever home has not been an easy feat due to the land size and style of house they were after.

They say third time’s a charm, and that was the case for the Weber’s as they were introduced to the Zuccoli Village’s Scobie release and saw the comfortable land size and affordability matched their needs perfectly.

“After being introduced to Zuccoli’s latest release, the land sizes were exactly what we were looking for and in our price point too,” Brianna said.

“We love the area as it is close to everything, and the fact we can build our home with our style in mind, made us make our mind up instantly.”

The family purchased a 700m2 lot from the Scobie release in Zuccoli Village, and have finalised their plans with renowned family home builder, About Homes, with completion set for March 2023.

Zuccoli Village’s Scobie Release features 58 allotments, ranging from 360m2 to 940m2 and is in the vibrant suburb of Palmerston, connected by open spaces, parks, schools, amenities and shops and 25-minutes to Darwin’s city centre.

Brianna says the location, land size and affordability ultimately sealed the deal for the family.

“I am born and bred in Darwin and have seen it develop over time, and Palmerston is the perfect location to continue raising our family. With schools, parks, work, and shops close by, it was a no brainer for us.

“There are quite a few developments in Palmerston which we looked at, but none that suited our needs – we really wanted to find a large block of land and not be connected to the house next door and Zuccoli Village offer that with their sizeable lots.”

Whilst the country has seen significant downturns in the housing market and constant supply chain issues for new builds, Darwin continues to grow, with recent data from CoreLogic stating Darwin falls into the top 10 capital cities with the highest 12-month value growth in Dwellings.

Urbex Realty General Manager, Craig Covacich has confidence in Darwin’s growth.

“Our sales remain strong and we have experienced moderate price growth and we expect this trajectory to continue over the next 12 months,” Craig said.

“Darwin remains one of the most affordable capitals to buy in nationally and new housing supply is limited. With some major infrastructure projects in the pipeline and a growing population we predict that rather than following other capitals into price decline, Darwin property values should keep escalating in the near future.”

Housing Industry Australia (HIA) Regional Executive Director for Northern Territory, Luis Espinoza said whilst interest rates have risen, the building material shortage has eased across the state.

“The shortage of material supply in the house construction industry has improved, with the backlog of supply easing as a result of the downturn in government incentives and rising interest rates, the supply is keeping up with demand,” Luis said.

Over 85% per cent of the Scobie release has already sold, with just 8 titled lots left available to purchase.

The Zuccoli Sales and information centre is located at Zuccoli Plaza, Shop 15 Crosby St, Zuccoli Northern Territory.
